Turning Domain Expertise Into Software Products

Geert founded Zalo Design Studio in July 2025 to create software products that turn complex professional workflows into calm, focused experiences. Its first product, MetaScope, grew from a personal need: a metadata editor powerful enough for serious photographers, yet intuitive enough to stay out of the way.

In March 2026, he co-founded ProofOfWork, extending that same founder-led approach into partnering with domain experts to shape new software products. Across both ventures, his work is rooted in the same belief: the best products grow from real expertise, clear market understanding, and close attention to the people who use them.

Built on Nearly Three Decades in Enterprise Technology

Before founding his own companies, Geert spent nearly three decades in enterprise technology. At Amazon Web Services, he served as Global Strategic Programs and Transformation Leader, supporting enterprise cloud transformation at scale and collaborating with Global Systems Integrators across EMEA. In his earlier AWS role, he helped shape partner-led cloud adoption across the region.

At VMware, Geert held senior roles over six years, partnering with enterprise clients including Vodafone, Liberty Global, and ING on large-scale transformation initiatives across cloud, workplace technology, and enterprise infrastructure.

Earlier roles across companies including @Valley, Comparex, Data Domain, BPSolutions, and Centric shaped the blend of technical, commercial, and strategic experience he brings to building products today. That foundation now informs Geert's work as a founder, where technical depth, commercial perspective, and hands-on product building come together in the creation of products like MetaScope.
