- We do not collect personal data.
- We do not track user behavior or usage statistics.
- MetaScope does not use third-party analytics or advertising tools.
Permissions
The app may request access to system features solely to provide the intended functionality. MetaScope does not upload your photos or metadata to a MetaScope-operated service.
Required permissions
- File system access. To read and edit metadata in your photos and videos.
- Photo library access. To process metadata in your image files.
- Location services (optional). Only when you choose to add GPS data to files.
MetaScope processes selected files and metadata on your device. Apple services may be used for App Store licensing, optional iCloud Photos, or an OS-managed Translation language-pack download after the system prompt.
Data storage
MetaScope keeps its app data and file-editing workflow on your Mac:
- All metadata editing is performed locally on your device.
- MetaScope does not upload photos or metadata to a MetaScope-operated service.
- Files leave the app only when you choose an export, share, or optional Apple service.
- App preferences are stored locally using macOS standard user defaults.
Third-party services
MetaScope does not include advertising networks or a MetaScope-operated analytics service. Apple services may handle App Store licensing, optional iCloud Photos access, and an OS-managed Translation language-pack download after its prompt.
